Not sure if this has been noted before, but looks like there's a sale currently going on with free $100 best buy e-gift card with purchase of XZ2 or XZ2 compact.

Definitely not bad. I’m torn on this phone, though. I have seen some reviews that are relatively high on it, however.

Maybe a stupid question, but what happens if I buy the phone and return within the 14 day window? Do I order the $100 gift certificate? Not saying I would do this intentionally, but I currently have a Pixel 2 and I'm not sure I'd like the XZ2 Compact better.

While returning they will deduct the difference if the gift card is used.

They will deduct $75 plus $35 restocking fee from the refund amount is my guess.

As much as I like this phone, the camera isn't spectacular and that's why I buy expensive phones. Also the lack of VoLTE support is frustrating. I don't even care about VoWiFi

Well, I just returned it. They only charged me the $35 dollar restocking fee. Didn't say anything about the gift card. Anyways, I wanted to love the phone. The screen and audio were well above average. The lack of VoLTE and camera are really what killed it. I'll wait for the U12+.

I was going to get the white but while waiting at Best Buy they told me thay had $300 off the S9... I ended up buying an S9 for like $450 out the door..

Wow, congratulations! That's a killer price for a great phone. I've been eyeing the XZ2 Compact, but to get the S9 for $200 cheaper is a steal.

Apparently BB has a deal that lasts trough today. $300 off all carrier S9 and S9+ but the unlocked version not included in the sale. I bought ATT one, paid the remaining $480 and submitted for an unlock code which I got this morning...

Killer deal. The BB guy said it runs through today.

XZ2 was on sale on Amazon as well for $736 for some colors. Honestly don't buy this now for full retail, there are on and off sales all the time on best buy and Amazon. If you don't mind used or even resale of brand new go over to swappa and there are great prices. Personally I buy on release date and sell devices after 2-3 months of use. Looks like XZ2 has dropped in value considerably in the resale market compared to some other brands. Also looks like demand for Sony phones in the resale market is also not that high.
