I just installed Quickpic gallery app and it breaks down your image folders more visible. I noticed that I had two camera pictures folders. At first I thought it was because I recently installed ICS camera and it created a new folder but the pics in each were from yesterday and from the first week I got my phone. There was no reason, date wise that pics would be in one or the other.

Further inspection showed that one folder was DCIM/100media with 680 pictures and the other was DCIM/camera with only 45. But of the 45 was new pics and really old ones.

Can anyone explain this?

No, but, you could always try moving all of your pics out of both folders into some other folder, delete both folders, then see what folder is created after you take a picture. I would assume Android will create a folder if one isn't present. Not 100% sure, but, I would think so. I would think that then you would only have one folder.

Yes they use two different locations (they just do)

Simple on most phones; go to settings in camera APP's & set the location u want or create a new location

u can also move the other pics/folders with Astro or other free file manager after u decide which location/folder u choose from above

hope that helps

I cleaned up my pic folders to see what happens. ICS camera created a camera folder in DCIM. All pics taken with the htc camera go to 100MEDIA. which is what I thought originally but before I moved stuff around DCIM/camera had a bunch of old pics from before I had ICS camera installed. Very strange.

Also I noticed that now the dinc2 can do screen shots they go into the root DCIM folder. Ironically not the screenshots folder htc put there when they made this phone.

Are you actively using both cameras? If not, just move all the pics into the folder for the camera you are going to use, and, then they will all be in one place.

I use both. It was just weird that before I had pics from the htc camera in 2 different places. Might be because I got a replacement phone and those pics were restored from sd rather than taken with this phone.

Oh well

I'm trying out ICS camera. If it created a new folder for just the ICS pics I wouldn't have posted this but the 2nd folder had htc camera pics in it too. Just seemed so random but I think I figured it out.

And, once you are done trying out ICS Camera, you'll pick one camera and then it shouldn't be an issue anyway, right? Either way, sounds like you got it figured out.
