13MP Camera? More like 11.5MP

So I'm kinda curious about this. All the spec sheets for the ZL say it has a 13MP camera sensor. However when you go into the camera settings the highest resolution you can pick is the 4:3 12MP ratio. And if I'm doing the math right even that is an exaggeration, as my math comes out at 11.5 MP:

3920 x 2940 (4:3) is 11,524,800 - in my rounding that works out to 11.5MP.

So anyone know the scoop here?

Seriously, how do you market a camera as having a 13 MP sensor when even the settings screen says 12MP?

Andrew had the answer in his review: if you use "superior auto" mode (which I am in the picture above) the camera shifts into 12 MP mode. If you are in normal mode then you get the full 13 MP sensor. I had mainly just left the camera set to Superior Auto and never noticed the pop up that said it was changing to 12MP based on the mode setting. So there's the explanation

Sorry, yeah I would have posted that before Andrew's post if I was around. Also noticed that if you go straight from the lock screen to the camera it puts it into 'superior auto' mode instead of Normal or whatever mode you had it set at.
