now in fairness, this is after i got an HTC One (M8) and had no mobile data on and the phone went almost unused with a 5900mAh battery but it did last 17+ days.

Seriously 17+ days ????? :O I don't seemed to get how on the earth this is happening my device can never make more than 36hrs even after keeping its wifi connection,data connection, brightness to its minimum level !! Please tell me which trick you are using to do that or are you showing your Photoshop skills ?????
no, it's real. The phone just sat with the screen off for 99% of the time and it's got a huge battery in it. With normal use, i could get just shy of 2 days with that battery.
