Looks like at 27sec, they did have a 1tone rear and not the current 2tone. Here's to hoping for 3rd party or HTC released alternate top rear covers. Looks a lot cleaner.

If some place can closely replicate HTC's soft touch anodized aluminum I'd imagine there would be a decent market for it at the right price. Heck even a matte black polycarbonate that matches the color of the bottom half well would probably do the trick.

Then again, I wonder how much people will care once they own the device, and especially after they slap a case on it.

It'll be interesting to see how this design choice plays out with consumers.
