1X / 3G or Wifi to conserve battery?

Hey folks,

Just curious if it's better to leave my Droid with wifi on (connected to my wifi) vs. wifi off. Which is easier on the battery? I've noticed that the back gets hot with heavy internet usage on 1X and 3G; however, I can barely feel any heat with the same usage on wifi. Would there be a difference if it's just sitting idle vs. being used for these two options?

Interesting question. When I look at the battery status I have not found that wifi burns exceptionally more battery life. I've gotten similar battery life with both options.
