1X for calls?

Every time I make a call my phone goes from 4G to 1X. The call quality is great, but still seems weird. Does this happen with your phone?

You have to turn on Advanced Calling within your Verizon account and on the phone I believe. This way calls will use VoLTE (Voice-Over LTE) so you can have data and calls.

It's a free feature. You can call Verizon or add it from the myVerizon app.

Doesn't bother my battery anymore than anything else.

It basically sends call over LTE (doesn't count towards data). It is the only way to get voice & data on new device with Verizon.
