2.2 Froyo OTA

I'm just glad to see that others are still waiting. I don't feel so alone and left out now. Worst case scenario only 3 days to go.

Not going to happen. No update for a discontinued, out of date phone. I'm just waiting a little while and replacing my Droid with the next great phone.

Guys, just do the manual update. I did and there's no problem at all with it. Could try rooting, I'm in the process of rooting right now.

I don't know if you've noticed.. but there have been many many MANY updates for, "out of date" Android phones.

My OG Droid isn't worth ditching yet :-*

Got the 2.2 update Saturday @ 9am

So I have 2.2 installed and now my trusty droid is locking up and apps will not start.At least my call quality is better.

I got it Saturday morning, much to my surprise. In the past my OTAs have all been very early in the morning. This one came at 1000.

My son who just got his droid, just got the update today. Called me to let me know and rub it in. I got my droid the first day they were available and still have not got the update. Whats with that.

idk if its bc i did the manula froyo install last week or not...but my droid had such lag after installing it. thank god for launcherpro bc using the stock froyo home was unbearable. idk if this 2nd update would fix that, or if i just should have waited for the ota....but froyo is a joke. and yes, i installed it correctly, like i have for every other manula update AC has posted in the past.

Just got my wifes droid as a replacement for her blackberry, i'm in NJ and tried to update this morning but nothing. Was surprised because I thought this was released a week ago and we are in major areas.

My droid X was updated within minutes of it being released.

Yeah. It's really odd. I got my phone registered in Westchester, but i live in NYC. I don't know if that makes a difference in when I get it, but there is always tomorrow.

FWIW, I live in Westchester CO as well, no updates for me either. I got the Eclair OTA probably within a day of the official announcement. Waiting patiently and have decided not to do the manual update no matter how bad the urge.

So why are a lot of people saying the 2.2 OTA update is bad on the Droid? Are there really a lot of bugs and problems that are causing the phone to run slow? I haven't received 2.2 to my Droid yet but I'm concerned from all the folks on here talking about how bad it allegedly is.

I can say that it's fantastic. The speed makes this a new phone again. Now, I never have rooted, but I do have a lot of apps, and it was really slowing down recently. Now, the zip is back. Don't worry, you'll be happy.

i just did the manual force upgrade, was easy and worked great.
