2.2 update - feature questions

After applying the OTA update, I have noticed two things with certain features on my phone.

In 2.1, when I had the alarm set, I could press dismiss to turn it off and the phone would lock as per the display lock setting. Now that I've applied the 2.2 update, the phone immediately locks.

In 2.1, when an application was removed, the remaining applications would shift to fill the space. When I downloaded a new application, it would for the most part get inserted in the proper order and all other application icons would move. Sometimes, a new application would get installed and would show up at end of the application listing. In other words, I would have to press applications, and then scroll through the pages until I reached the end, in order to find the newly installed application. Changing from grid view to list view and back to grid view would sort the list.

In 2.2, this does not happen. The application icons remain in place when something is removed. Anything new I add is first inserted in a blank space. Changing from grid view to list view and back to grid view doesn't sort the applications.

If I remember correctly to resort your apps goto your apps list then press menu button>edit>sort a-z

Sort a-z is what your looking for... I'm running a custom ROM and don't have the stock launcher so I can't look but I do remember the "sort a-z" in the app list when you press menu is what your looking for.

Select the Applications
Press Menu
Press Edit
Press Menu
Press a-z sort

@jrick, thanks friend.. I run custom ROMs and don't use TouchWiz so I'm going from memory on the exact button selection... I was in the ball park

Thanks for the information.

I'll have to take another look at this, but when I press applications>menu>edit, I see some icons that have an oranage circle with a dash inside. I don't recall seeing a sort a-z option under edit.

After you press Applications>Menu>Edit the icons for the apps will be "highlighted". Press Menu again, then you will see a-z sort.
