reviewed from beta testers in korea but not confirmed for US models yet

1) Reserved OS ram is reduced to 308MB from 320MB
Not much improvements here but i guess 2.2 needs less memory than 2.1

2)Now It supports voice typing
forget the swype(not that it doesn't come with it)/ forget the qwerty keyboard..... let's talk now
personally i never had good exprience with voice typing from other devices so it is hard to tell if it works very well or not

3)you have option to unlock the phone using pass-code or pin
i guess some users from korea didn't like the dragging and dropping pattern thing

4)the setting menu will be sorted indivisually and detailed
different colors to every line of settings and sort out nicely

5)font change doesn't require to reboot

6)Sense UI (copied??? or imitated??) is included

7)lagginess from d/l is improved and add a button for forum from market(what is this?)

8)added teathering so u can connect gs to any computer to use instant internet use for connected system

9)play music from "FOLDER" option is added

10)you can lock the rotation with rotation lock button

11) added data network mode to shut down menu
i guess this option will let you use internet but kills the calls

12)GPS bug is now gone

13)no more Bing welcome to google

14)you can record your(you and the person you are talking to) conversation during calls

Sounds to me like Samsung is making good by all the complaints we as users were voicing. If this is any indication of the U.S. update then /dance.

I personally believe that this information is for the non-verizon version of the phone. ie: once verizon gets their hand on it, bing will be there, senseUI won't be there, tethering may or may not be free.

maybe it's just my pessimism... here's to hoping that the majority of these are true.

I dont care about Bing and Sense. I just left an HTC android device and I am loving the change of scenery. As far as bing goes I easily disabled it. So...GPS and a few of the other minor issues and the Samsung will be a perfect phone for me.

There is no reason to believe that Sense UI would be a part of the 2.2 update for any phone not made by HTC

Agreed. Why would Samsung do away with their own TouchWiz interface and replace it with something from HTC.

It would be nice if we could at least get our hands on it so we can judge for ourselves.... then again we are just silly users.
