this might be a dumb question but, im a new owner of a nexus s phone for sprint and just got it yesterday. question is well it comes with android version 2.3.4 so as i have checked i am way behind. tried checking for system updates but it says my device is up to date, is there any way to upgrade to the newest android version 2.3.7? btw like i said just got the phone so im not rooted, am i gonna have to root in order to upgrade? any help is appreciated and if someone else has posted a similar question i apologize for the double post. thanks in advance

Weird. I'm surprised you didn't get the 2.3.5 update when you checked. Try doing *#*CHECKIN#*#* on the dialer and see if you get 2.3.5. Then from there it would just be waiting for 2.3.7 since some people still are ; you could look in here for the update zip files to do it manually. Try that first.

thanks for the reply i will check right now to see if it works. i was surprised too and all the people i talked to at sprint on the phone were too.

Hmm. I was hoping it would at least force the 2.3.5 update. Do a search in the forums for the 2.3.5 update zip. Then if you want the same for 2.3.7. Then once you have the zip(s) install in order. You don't need to be rooted.

Turn off phone. Power on holding voulme up and power down at the same time till you get tl fastboot. Navigate with volume rocker to recovery. Hit power. When the box comes up with! Hit the volume up and power again. The select the update from zip option and chose your zips in order.
