Well now that the nexus s has officially been announced, looking at the specs it not much different than other galaxy s phones, aside from added technology. Now I am wondering, since its very similar to other galaxy s phones, is there a possibility a ROM could be made of 2.3 to flash onto other galaxy s phones?

ROMs will, no doubt, be flowing in the near future. However, like any software, the beginning ROMs will probably be buggy and slow, and gradually get better and better. The creation of ROMs will probably occur once the source code is released, you will see people flashing them on to their own devices.

There's no doubt in my mind those geniuses at XDA will manage to port the Nexus S ROM to the other Galaxy phone relatively quick. My guess is by the beginning of January either Cyanogen will have a 2.3 ROM available, and/or there will be a port available

I think that too soon for CM to have a build. The source code hasn't released and no one knows when it will.

The vibrant seems to be a shoe in for this rom almost the same hardware

Ya maybe the beginning of January is a bit too hopeful. But I don't see why a late January release would be out of reach. They had 2.2 released relatively quick. This is of course if they didn't do massive changes to code and such. We'll see I guess. I know I can't wait.
