These days a company can transition from fresh faced Silicon Valley sweetheart to the Man quicker than people realize. I am not saying that Google IS the man, aka a greedy, entrenched corporate institution wielding political power. I am saying that elements of Google are fully capable of transitioning to a different core ideology - which means it may be a good time for us all to reexamine our relationship to the big G.
