I am really starting to get worried about how the Galaxy Nexus and all Android Operating systems from this point forward won't be supporting mass storage through usb. Apparently google wants MTP to be supported. That's great and all, but what about people who have macs? MTP is not supported, we use the debug mode mass storage to unmount and mount the sdcard onto the apple computer.

this is really bothering me because 1) i can't get my files on my galaxy nexus and 2) I can't view my files on my phone through a explore/finder. with 32 gigs, i like to dump 10 gigs worth of video for long trips on planes and use a third party decoder to watch 1080p videos.

WTF google!!!

I can think of a couple of answers, but neither are really very nice.

1. I would think independent developers would try to get mass storage working properly. I know I would.
2. I found this for you. XNJB

Andrew it is possible the OP missed that information when you posted it. Perhaps we could get a mod to give is a sticky for it. I am sure we will be seeing more of these types of questions after the GN is released.

Yeah, I was just kidding... it gets lost in text. Its buried pages and pages back. I don't expect anyone but the super nerds (hi!) to have remembered it.

I vote that Apple sux. Jobs was a megalomaniac. Like the Wizard of Oz.

i really do wish I could sell this macbook. I've tried. Once it didn't meet reserve and the second time it was buy it now scam from India. I gave up. Lion has really ruined this macbook. I said it. LION HAS RUINED THIS MACBOOK!!!! (ALL CAPS RAGE). I'm in love with this laptop: ASUS ZENBOOK Can wait to sell this thing and move onto this. To be honest, I don't use it that much. I mostly use an Asus Transformer now. HC for the most part works and Asus has added some nice features and fast updates, but its not as smooth as a netbook half the price (:/) I'm hoping ICS changes that a bit.

Apple=Fail

Not having seen the video, would one have to root to get it work?

The main advantage of my X over my previous phone (iPhone) is the ability to copy files from the phone via usb.

If I can't do that with the Nexus WITHOUT having to root it I might as well go back to *that* phone. /sigh/

I am a dj/vj so it is great to be able to download music and videos onto the phone using the venues' wifi and then copying the files to the computer via usb.

Im also concerned about being able to copy and replace files via usb. In my line of business im constantly dragging and dropping files and listening to music on my phone. This will be a dealbreaker for me and I guess I will settle for the rezound ugh lol. Another alternative is a few gigs from dropbox i guess. Anyone know if you will be able to listen to your music from files on dropbox?

Not seeing video, nor reading my post.

Hey ADR, am I right in assuming that those who use pc's will be able to simply drag and drop files? BTW im surprised being that you are so good at creating roms and kernels for the thunderbolt that you would be interested in the Nexus. :p

I started out my modding career with aosp, and am itching to get back.

If MTD is like what I think it is, you will need to sync media with an application. I do not think its drag and drop (but I could be wrong).

I agree that Lion has ruined my mac. I'm moving back to snow leopard. But I love my macbook air, I gave up tablets for macbook air and it was well worth it.

Andrew....You are awesome and you made my day!!!

This is awesome!! and also solves the tablet issue.

You can currently, so yes, but why not go the Google music way?

VS910 4G Kangwich

The only reason why I dont use Google music is because they dont have any lockscreen widgets. LOL I know its pretty asinine, but I prefer poweramp or stock music player because of the lockscreen widget. I listen to music in my car exclusively through the headphone jack and its a pain to turn on the phone, unlock it, find the music app then advance the song or trying to fast forward a song. Just a pet peeve of mine :p
