2 day old uk note 8 weather app not showing my correct location

Doubt it is the phone itself, did you try to get a location fix in maps to see if it can do correct location

Maps gets my location easily.this is not what im talking about.im saying the note 8 built in weather app gets the completely wrong location

Cheers TechNut I'll just have to keep bumping this thread and hope a note 8 expert see it.im getting a replacement tommrow.but I'm 99 percent sure that will have the same issue

if your GPS is working fine then this would be a software issue which isn't going to be fixed in till the software company releases a fix.

That's what I was thinking.but I seem to be the only english Note 8 person with this issue on this forum .No other uk note 8 owners have responded in this thread saying they have the same problem. And I searched the web about this issue before making this thread and could not find anyone else with this note 8 problem.so maybe it is my phone that's faulty.im going to check my replacement phone on the door step whilst the delivery boy is there as he will want to take my current phone that is perfect other than this problem. So if the replacement has the same problem.ill tell the driver to take the new replacement away as I would rather keep my original phone.plus all my music vids pics etc are on my original note 8.So I won't be doing the straight handset swap that the driver probably thinks I'm going to do

Update so the boy arrived with the replacement and wouldn't let me open it to check if it has the same issue.he wanted my phone that has all my pics vids messages etc etc on.straight swap.so im stuck with my old broken note 8

They're not all backed up? You could have done a factory reset right then and there if they were and checked the new phone.

Nope I can't back up my phone . My laptop broke last year.plus half of the note 8 phones have light bleed and pink tint to the screen.so if I handed the delivery kid my note 8 and he drives away and I get the replacement. The replacement will probably have a bad screen.and the built in weather app will probably still not work.then I'm stuck with a **** phone. As this note 8 i have is perfect other than the stock weather app.ive downloaded tons of weather app for the note 8 accurate weather google weather etc etc and they all work properly and find my exact location.but the built in app says I'm in the next town away.for instance I live in the borough of Kingston. And my town is called Malden manor.the built in weather app will say I'm in Kingston instead of Malden manor where I live.i went out today to test it .I went to a place near by called Wooster park and that is in the Sutton borough. But again it said I was in Sutton. Instead of saying I'm in Wooster park.its like the built in app locates you to the nearest borough,instead of the exact location,like all other weather apps do.the built in note 4 weather app says the exatct real location where ever I go.and so does all the other note 8 weather apps on the store.but I like the stock app it's nicer

I've tried Samsung support they are idiots and say tun off location and back on etc .My phone is on we no idea if it's locked or not.that has nothing to do with this issue either. I've sent reports to the built in weather app.amd made threads on there support page.no body is willing to help.or fix the dam app.i think I'm going to have to buy another note 8 .test it then if the new one has this issues return the phone in the 30 day window.thats all I can do as nobody on this forum has a note 8 from uk.same goes for the Samsung support site .
So I'm going to get another contract for a note 8 today. Let them ship to me and test it.then return it

Also the battery sucks on note 8 it only lasts about 5 hours before you need to charge it again

I'm from the uk also on ee and my stock weather widget displays the wrong town, all other go's required apps work perfectly

Mine here in the U.S. has me in the next town as well. It's annoying, but that's why I use Weather Timeline. Works as it should.
