2 Droid Bionics down, 1 to go?

I purchased my Bionic on the launch date. Before that I had my trusty Moto Droid 1 which gave me no problems until I got it wet and the phone became unresponsive. My first Bionic decided it wasn't going to charge one day so Verizon gave me another one, free of charge. I'm currently on that 2nd Bionic still. Last week it decided that it wasn't going to charge unless the USB cable was inserted at a certain angle (2 USB cables, but not the car charger). I took it in today and the lady said they'd send me another within 2 days. Considering us Bionic owners were okie doked with the Razr coming out shortly after, do you think they would give me one, free of charge, if I asked? I think I deserve one considering my phone came out first yet is getting ICS AFTER the Razr. That's messed up.

My guess is that if they still have some refurbished BIONICs in stock that that's what you'll be getting. If not, you could probably wangle a RAZR out of the deal if you play it right.

The Droid 3 came out before the Bionic, it's not getting ICS at all. According to your logic, they "deserve" to get a Razr before you do.

See how that works?

True. I figured that the Bionic would be better suited for 2 years because it has 4G along w/ the dual core 1 GHz.

They gave me a Razr just a month ago after I had trouble with two Bionics dropping data.

I just got a replacement phone for my Bionic under a warranty claim. My issue was currently very minor, but will sometimes not pick up when headphone jack is connected. A little wiggle on the plug lets it connect. At the store, they said the phone flat wouldn't recognize the connection (i think they looked for a headphone icon in notifications, and my phone never had that even when working right). So now I have a refurbished phone at home to replace mine.

I've always believed if you're replacing a defective product, you should get a brand new one. This was bolstered by a string of refurbished phone exchanges when I was with Sprint. In one two year period, had exchanged phones at least 6 times. All under warranty, all being replaced with refurbished ones, and all of them defective right out of the box or soon after. Sometimes worse than the one it replaced, even when switching makes and models of phones.

So now my dilemma is do I keep the one I have and tell them no thanks on the refurbished one, or give it one shot?

I agree that you should get a new phone. I think if you're paying insurance then you should be able to pick a new phone of equal or lesser value.

I had an LG Optimus and it burned through USB cables right and left. I was having to replace them about one a month sometimes. I heard they were prone to the USB port wearing out on them. When I asked the sales rep about the current LG phones, he kinda said it's still a problem but he may also have been hoping that lead to a better phone sale by saying it.
