2 Gmail accounts two icons

I have 2 separate gmail accounts and until last week I had them on separate icons. It was the gmail app but each account with a different icon. I could select one and the account opened or select the other and the other account opened. Last week one day the 2 icons disappeared and had a gray box stating something like app failed or something, don't remember exactly. I deleted the icons and replaced them but now if I select one I see both gmail accounts and can select either one but the second icon displays the same information. I can not for the life of me figure out how I set that up originally. I don't think anything update on my phone so I'm not sure what happened. Any ideas how to make a separate icon for each gmail account?

I'm not sure if this will work with the S5, but worth a try. Go to your widgets list and see if there's one called Gmail label or something similar. If there's one, drag it to your home screen, select one of the accounts and an specific label. Repeat for the other account.

Javier I think that is how I set up the two icons before but now if I do that I get the same account on each icon. If I open the app and switch the account I get the emails for that account but the other icon als switched the account so when I use that icon to open gmail it displays the same information as the other one. Weird, I can't figure out why it different now. Maybe an update?
