2 pet peaves..

Point is, to transfer 1 MP3 file requires iTunes and that's how Apple wants it to be. And no you can't transfer via Bluetooth from phone to phone unless you use some type of 3rd party app.
Or you can use the cloud and not use iTunes.. like I literally have with the iPhone in my house. So yeah.. don't need it and aren't forced to use it.

Yes you don't need unlimited data. You download it through the cloud on wifi TO the phone (so when camping and the great outdoors you can listen to the music.. off the phone).

How is downloading it to your phone not the same as putting it on your phone? Lol.

Uploading thousands of MP3s and hours of podcast just to redownload on the phone? Why the hassle? Easier to do the good old drag and drop. This is why people like Android.

I remember I had a Microsoft Zune. You were forced to use the Zune software to load music on it... what a pain in the butt. Then came Android, you can access your files via plug and play. No BS, no hassle.

That's another debate. You said you must have it.. I said you don't since you don't.

Also once in the cloud it's done. For every phone you get you can pull it down if need be. Don't have to use iTunes.

I've tried uploading 300 songs to my Google Drive. It took over 24 hours and several times stopped uploading. I don't have Comcast internet so my connection isn't fast. Heck, my phone internet is faster though it's limited. Cloud might be the future, but most people still prefer the physical storage. Hence why micro SD is still around, however big manufactures like Google and Apple want you to use their cloud services for $$$ as well as carriers with their data plan.

In other words, the cloud is not entirely free.

I don't see how that has anything to do with my original statement.. I simply said it wasn't a requirement or the only way to get it on the phone.

It sounds in your case you may want to use it.. so it's another option. You could do the cloud or you can choose the option to do the iTunes route.

Saying it's a forced or required thing was the only thing I was saying isn't true since.. it isn't. I've done it my way and it works just fine.

Why would you use drive instead of Google music?

I'm disappointed by 2 things that the V20 has, not what it doesn't have. #1 Camera. I NEVER take any photos of anything. #2 DAC. The only audio that I need is for phone calls. I don't know watch videos or listen music. So, I guess that's my problem with all phones :-). Also this phone is very boring! Boring in a good way. There's never anything wrong with it. What's up with that? It also took away my cravings for "the next best thing" Zzzzz

Welcome to a phone suited to please the user without issues. Lol

I copy the songs onto my flash drive then plug into V20 and copy them to memory. You could also copy to sd card. Why use cloud?

I use OSONS - Only SONg Serve, do search for what song I want, download the MP3 then move the MP3 to SD card. To play - Mp3 Player by accountlab. Never need wifi or data after mp3 is on SD card. Remember the V20 can use the largest SD card available.

Hmmm. Didn't notice that the post was about the V20. My bad? It's going Bada Boom when the Note 8 arrives.

"New school" vs "old school". I still think the good old "drag and drop" is #1 . If people can't figure that out, they really need professional help.

Songs take up so much space on the cloud I keep mine on a flash drive plugged into the car ( A plug) and the other end is a C plug I plug into the v20. I can easily add or delete songs for the car and or the phone.

I have read contradictory statements about whether that is possible with iphone thunderbolt.
