How do i turn off the default sms? I have already installed the handsent sms.

And the 2nd how do I view what programs are running now that I uninstalled the taskiller? My battery only lasted 6hrs today with normal usage a few times it was 100% once killer was off its at 71% still seems high to me

That could be because you still have the native sms client. What you need to do is open the native sms client go to setting and click do not notify. Then you should reset the phone and it should help the battery life substantially.

You also have to stop automatic retrieve in the setting for the native messaging program.

my hero battery is dead by 3pm and thats with little use. I have taken all the steps people have mentioned. usually only awake 20%-29% time.

I have wifi/bluetooth off
stock sms hasnt been used since reboot.

What else can I do if I charge during the day will I get battery memory?

Are you in an area that has poor sprint coverage? If you are then that might be why your phone is losing battery life, because it will constantly be looking for service. IF that is not the problem go take it in for an exchange.
