2017 anyone still enjoying this phone?

My 6P (purchased right after release) is down to 86% according to AccuBattery but still works reliably. I haven't had any of the problems that you may be concerned about; only noticeable delay is capturing pictures (HDR processing time). Still on 7.1.2 (August security updates) and looking forward to 8.x to see if it breathes new life into the device.

Just purchased a refurbished LG V20 as a backup device so that I don't have to worry about battery issues for awhile.
You gotten to play with the 20 much yet? How are you liking it?

I still use my Gold 6P at times. Had it since released in US.
No issues with it , battery still seems fine
I'm running beta "O" on it :)

A month ago, I would've mirrored a lot of the comments already on this thread. My 6P had been an absolutely wonderful phone with zero issues out of it, until it wasn't. Phone is currently sitting in a closet on its way to collecting dust as I speak. Phone went into a bootloop and has been that way ever since. No precursors, no warning, nothing. Just a reboot and that's all she wrote. I'm sure you will enjoy the phone just like myself and a lot of others have on there. Just please be mindful of some it's potential issues down the road and protect yourself in the event something like this happens to you. I wouldn't want anyone's 6P to become a nice shinny brick like mine has now become.

Ouch, that sucks! Were you already outside warranty?

Unfortunately I was. According to Huawei I was 1 month and a half past my warranty. Ive tried every trick thats been shown online to try to bring it back to life to no avail. They have a class action lawsuit being put together on this issue which I gave them my info and story so maybe one day 10 years from now I will claim my $4.50 prize. LOL In the meantime, I've been thinking long and hard on what my next phone is going to be. Not sure what direction I will go on that based on this recent experience. Only thing I do know is there's at least 2 smartphone makers I will not be buying from.

Just fiddled with the basics: put my SIM in to make sure it sees a data connection; received 4 system updates (7.0, security updates current to June 2017); used 3rd party tools to roll back to earlier firmware; used the (included) Verizon software to install the latest firmware; examined the stock bloatware, Launcher, etc.

Just waiting for my screen protector to arrive (just received the holster/case today) before I feel comfortable making it a primary and taking it anywhere.

Still like the 6P! Just received replacement under device protection plan due to battery issues. Otherwise, no problems. Phone has slowed down and apps have to reload when switching.

I've had mine since November of 2015 as well, and hardly any problems at all except for normal battery degradation. The only persistent issue I have is that when Google Assistant or search opens a website, it immediately shuts down into the background, requiring me to open it back up via the "square" button. Never happens with Chrome or other apps. Best phone I've ever owned, and will use it 'till it bricks!

I'm on my third. Had this one well over a year now though and still seems as good as new. Great phone. I'd have had a pixel but I'm sure I'd miss these speakers

No problems, still the best phone I`ve ever had. I`d really struggle to find a replacement for my 6p,especially the camera which I use to take loads of pics of my Granddaughter...it`s superb.
The 6P has an ideal size IMO, and the flat screen is great. I don't have one right now but did have some experience with one.

My 6P has been really good. Original owner since Nov '15 with no issues of any kind (fingers crossed). Just got a battery swap from ubreakifix in Reno, NV ($80 done in 17 minutes). I wasn't having any issues at all with the OE battery but if I don't go for the Pixel 2 XL, then I'll have a nice Oreo loaded phone for another year + if need be. Best stable phone with exceptional camera !

Bought mine used on Craigslist last week and it's been good so far. loving the big screen and the front facing speakers.

Been rocking my 6P for almost 2 years and always beta so the new OSes help keep it fresh. Battery has suffered over this time, but that's my only issue. The big bezels on the Pixel 2 XL from the rumor mill worry me, so I'm considering the Essential Phone as my next device...

Just noticed something new for me on Oreo, I now get a blue flashing led on the top left of my 6P when I've got an email.... Never seen it before in 2 years 😯
