My 3rd day review. OK, had the Razr 3 days now and thought I'd give my thoughts on it. The first day and a half I was having serious thoughts of thinking this was a mistake and I'd end up returning it. Reason being, #1 , I couldn't get the speech to text function to function. I rely on this feature a lot and it would be a huge downside if it doesn't work. 3rd reboot seemed to do the trick and it has been working flawlessly so YAY! But, outer screen still didn't give me any love for this issue, Then last night it just started to work right out of the blue. And does it ever work, so accurate, Apple ya listening! Probably not.
So now that this issue has been resolved the little screen has become fully much more functional, I like that.
At first I was having trouble opening the phone smoothly and was afraid of drops, I put a case on it and this helped, also the case helps with preventing phantom touches of the screen and causing havoc. A good reason for a case. I'm not a big flipologist type so I open with 2 hands, one holding the phone as the other one opens. When I get a call I have it set to open to accept the call and sometimes I accidentally brush the power button and decline the call, so need to work on that. Happens when I pull it out of a pocket also. I think this will get better as time goes by and won't be the issue it currently is. The case also makes this a little less of an issue as the buttons are a bit more recessed.
So I'm thinking this is a keeper. I have a couple of iPhones I was using and a pixel 7 I sold to help finance the Razr. Those types of phones, slabs were just getting a little boring. The Pixel 7 was just to damn big for me and the size was really starting to bug me. The iPhone 13 mini was the sweet spot for size but then the screen was sometimes a little to small to do certain things. The speech to text function and in fact all the text function on that phone were terrible, trying to correct a typo was a chore moving the cursor to where it needed to go was a pain. Talk typing made frequent mistakes that had to be corrected. Android has this problem licked and is miles ahead of apple in that regard. I also missed the android widgets functionality. So happy that I have a small phone now that has a big screen only when I want it. Win/Win for sure.
After more time with the Razr I'm sure I'll get better at it and stop hanging up on people. It does come with a little learning curve but nothing I can't handle.
And, battery life so far has been outstanding!!
I'll probably have more comments in the days ahead, Cheers!!
