Where can I find my credit?
I have the transformers movie and other free stuff in my play store, so I know my account is linked to the device. But when I tried to buy a paid app, the only payment option was my credit card in Google wallet. :-$
this does not mean you cant still pick one up from an outside retailer like Staples and have the credit.
Long story short, you must have a credit card hooked up to your account before they credit you. Probably to keep people from factory reseting the device and abusing the $25
I'm not sure about adding a credit card to the wallet. The $25.00 credit must be attached to your Nexus ID number, not to a credit card.
When I did the factory reset to default, I did not add a credit card to the Wallet app. and I am able to get the $25.00 credit.. I was told to do this by customer support.
I really don't know but would be interested for someone to tell us the facts...
YES! There are enough people having this problem that it should be in their FAQ.I really don't know but would be interested for someone to tell us the facts...

I used Google Wallet to pay for the N7 from the Play store, so there is a credit card associated with the account. It's also a Gmail account I have 5+ years so it's not new by any stretch of the imagination. No luck getting the credit when I configured the device last month.
I did a factory reset last night and redid the configuration and still no luck.![]()
Here's what finally worked. I'm not sure it makes sense, but it did work...
1. From a computer, log in to wallet and remove the credit card.
2. Log out
3. Do a factory reset of my Nexus 7 and then power it down.
4. From a computer, log in to wallet and add the credit card.
5. Power up my Nexus 7 and do the set up.
At the end of set up process, the Nexus 7 screen said something about the credit. I also got the "Your $25.00 Google Play credit is ready to use" message in gmail.
The process seems more witch doctor than high techbut it's hard to argue with success.

it was a limited time offer for preorders. from what I have been told the credit is linked to the devices serial number and only the first batches shipped are linked to it. this does not mean you cant still pick one up from an outside retailer like Staples and have the credit. that just means they still have original ones from the "preorder" batches in stock.
I could be wrong but this is what multiple csrs have told me form a few retailers.
you cant come late to the game and expect the preorder perks guys. if you get the perks now count yourself lucky and be grateful.![]()
