I am updating this OP so you can Bask in the glory of a rooted tablet with clock work After much searching and trial and error i got it down to a T

First thing you have to do is go all the way back to stock you have to flash back to stock then re-lock your boot loader i know this is a pain in th bung hole but it needs/should be done

MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP ALL OF YOUR DATA THIS WILL WIPE YOUR XOOM and give you a clean slate to work from to do this follow these steps here

http://forums.androidcentral.com/xo...xoom-via-fastboot-official-system-images.html

the version it says may not be the right one for you make sure you select the right one mine was a US wifi model mx604 I believe...

After you do the first step then follow the instructions here and this will give you what you need also remember you will need the android sdk set up and also need the moto drivers on your computer...

Hope this helps

Yes, the 3.2.1 update unroots your Xoom, but apparently there's a quick way to reroot. I can't seem to find the correct method though...Can someone provide the instructions and also...do we lose our data in the process? Thanks.

I believe you will loose root. It won't let you update with the unlocked bootloader. To take a official update you need to lock it first. Not 100% on how to root it again.

This what I used with the 3.2.1 youhave to go all the way back to stock then do this

Guide to setting up and using adb/fastboot-unlock, flash custom recovery & root - xda-developers

Make sure you check all your md5 sums I failed to do that and ended up soft bricking my tablet because of a bad file download...

This is the OLD method and is out dated i tried it and would not work use the link i provided and that will get you back up and running again...

Royce

What you linked goes through the ENTIRE process of installing everything from adb to the jdk and sdk, before finally getting to step 5 which says get sloarnz universal Xoom root and do the same steps in the guide I posted. There is no old way to do it. Just the one, install CWM, drop the zip on sd and flash it!
