Do you think Samsung will keep it for the next Galaxy?
List of phones without a 3.5mm headphone jack:

Moto Z Force Droid

HTC U Play
HTC U11
HTC U11+
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
iPhoneX
Xiaomi Mi 6
Huawei Mate 10 Pro
Essential Phone
Razer Phone
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
LeEco Le S3
LeEco Le Pro 3
LeEco Le 2
LeEco Le 2 Pro
LeEco Le Max 2
*The list continues to grow so I may have missed some...
Soon it seems all flagship phones will eliminate it - other than possibly Samsung(hopefully).
I'd much rather have my 3.5mm headphone jack - it's far from redundant imo...
Yes, I use bluetooth earbuds but sound quality & volume just isn't there... yet - maybe when bluetooth 5 is a thing but it still won't be what wired can give. Then there's always having to pair my headphones and keeping them charged.
What happens when my battery dies or I leave them at home? I always have a spare set of wired buds in my gym bag or car.
Yes, all phones still support wired connections... but the problem with this, however, is that they lock you into your phone’s particular ecosystem and they are nowhere near as cheap as the classic 3.5mm plug alternatives. You can buy a pair of USB C headphones for 150$ or you could just buy a cable - not the headphones- for 100$. The price isn't dropping in the foreseeable future either. Yes, you can buy an awesome dongle for much cheaper with sound quality only suffering a bit but I should not have to lose any sound quality/volume with a wired connection. The market is so fragmented & what will work with one phone may or may not with another. USB-C remains a nightmare to navigate since its implementations vary across hardware manufacturers, and it’s difficult for a headphone company to guarantee its headphones will work with everything.
In the future these issues may be corrected but how long until then? Why not keep the jack until that point?
Can you still listen to FM radio without the headphone jack & using the wired headphones as an antenna? I really never did but I'm sure some people do.
Mainly, What if I need to charge my phone while I'm listening to music? I can't since my USB C port is in use. For myself there is removed functionality & the headphone jack is not redundant.
I'd just like to hear what everyone elses thoughts are... Am I alone here? Do you not care or is the 3.5mm headphone jack an important asset to your device?
