32 GB Card- My Experience with Speed

thanks for the review, good work! i want a 32 but will wait till there a bit faster i take lots of video

Considering the following:

SD Class > transfer rate -
Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MB/s)
Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MB/s)
Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MB/s)
Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MB/s)

and that the defined standard for DVD video sets forth raw data bit rate of 11.08 Mbit/s (actual 9.08 Mbit/s for audio and video steams, and most only use 4-5 MBit/s of that) - theoretically, you should be good for recording any video the EVO is capable of producing and watching any video stream capable of fitting on your SD card... in theory, at least :-)

I have the same Sandisk 32gb card from Verizon, and I shot a ton of 720p video at a bbq over the weekend with zero lag, zero skips, and zero stuttering.

I did notice the longer SD card setup time at bootup, but now that you pointed out that it could be due to the larger SD card, it makes sense.

Interesting, i have a 16GB card in mine, and its only Class 2.
I have shot a few videos and noticed a couple of times each video has some skip or lag. I think i will look into a class 4 or 6 Card.
I agree that the theory is good that a class 2 would work, but i am sure there are other backround processes that might be accessing the card. With 2.2 stuff will be stored on the card, i would want a faster transfer rate anyway.
