3a XL is stuck in grey scale. Help!

[Android Central Question]

I had my phone set up with wind down and never had any issues. Today I turned off the grey scale setting, for like an hour the phone was working fine and then it went back to just grey colors.

I tried everything! Didn't work

Contacted Google, did everything they told me, didn't work

My phone is still under warranty which is great, they offer to fix it or replace it with a new one. The bad news is that I wouldn't have a phone for up to 10 days.
With everything that's going on I can't not have a phone for that long.

Has anyone had this issue before? Maybe anyone has any ideas that I can try?

I had already reset my phone to factory settings, if you know of anything else that could fix it please let me know.
I really don't want to send my phone to Google right now

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps, select Digital Wellbeing, then Storage, then clear the app cache/data. Now see if the problem persists.

Also, are you saying that immediately after the factory reset, it booted into greyscale as well?

When I reset it it was working in full color but as soon as I finish the setting up process it went back to grey colors
I forgot to mention I created a shortcut for black and white screen in developer mode months ago before well being was available.
could that be the problem?
I already clear app the cache of digital well being, it didn't work

I went back into developer options and looked for simulate color space, it was set in monochrome for some reason. I disabled it and the phone is back in full color.
I'm not sure if that was the right fix but is working
