I'm definitely loving the 3D...but I don't really care about the 3D aspect. The Sensation is a sexy ass phone. As far as I can tell 3d is the only difference aside from the increase of fps on the Sensation. I know the likelihood of Sprint getting the Sensation is slim...but I'd definitely prefer that. Anyone else??

Why? The 3d will do all the Sensation will do, has more ram, and has 3d on top of that. The Sensation will come to T-Mobile, so you'd have to switch to them if you want it.

Not only will you have to switch, but AT&T is about to buy them. So, expect your rates to go up, their attention to android to go down, and to figuratively get raped over the phone ever time you call customer service. I'd stick with the 3D.

That being said if one has an unlocked BL and the other doesn't, I'd run flailing and screaming to that device.

I too am torn but it will depend more on availability of the GSM unlocked versions of both (or the gsm versions are available as well as unlocking services). And btw, AT&T said in its report to the FCC that it would respect the T-Mobile pricing and plans so anyone who jumps carriers should be safe for a while. Customer Service who knows.

Back to topic. The Sensation is lighter and SLIGHTLY slimmer (and somewhat sexier according to some). It also has a better camera and a better Full HD video (more frames per second as someone else commented).

The Evo 3D has more RAM. I don't know how noticeable the difference will be but it also depends on how quickly you upgrade. If you change phones regularly "future proofing" isn't as important. If you keep them for a long time then it's the kind of thing that matters. I'm going to wait on the reviews as well before I pull the trigger. There are two other things to consider. The LEDs on the EVO3D for some reason look bigger/more powerful to me. If there is a noticeable difference it could affect night shots/video. The other is to see how the parallax screen affects the sharpness of the image. Someone said it looked kind of blurry. If this is so and you don't care about 3D then you might want to go with the Sensation. But as you and others mentioned. You'd have to switch carriers. Most carriers in the world are GSM which means it would be hard to find a version of the Sensation compatible with Sprint that Sprint themselves didn't release.

Yea...see...I dont see any of that as being true. Its just nice to say when trying to slight the potential of this merger. The rate increase? Probably...less competition means higher prices...thats obvious. The rest...meh...we'll see.

I'm not planning on switching though. I'm speaking purely device based. I dont care about the 3D aspect of the phone and it just seems like an ugly looking device. Its a beast...no doubting that. But the Sensation just LOOKS nicer. Thats all I'm looking at since the specs of the phones are pretty damn close.

Dont care about 3D...the RAM increase will not even be noticable. And the way a phone looks is important to me. And the Sensation is a very elegant, sexy looking phone.

The RAM increase will be noticable when you go open apps that you haven't in a while (more RAM means more apps can be "saved"). It was also probably a necessity to make 3D capture possible. But that's just a guess.

One thing I DIDN'T hear mentioned about the 3D was instant capture. For me that feature is huge. I have small kids that don't sit still. A ton of my pics end up blurry because of that. Instant capture solves that (and makes sure I get the shot I want).

Physically I like the Sensation better, but something about having those two cameras hanging out back would just be awesome.

The Sensation also features this.

Yep that's what I said. I haven't heard it mentioned about the 3D at all, though. It might just be because the other big features over shadow it, though. I don't see why it wouldn't be there, though, but stranger things have happened.

Well, for me, its the Evo 3D all the way. Here's why:

1. Evo 3D has more ram. No, the the ram is NOT there to accommodate the 3D aspect. The LG Optimus 3D only has 512 MB of ram and has 3D UI interface, which the Evo 3D doesn't. This means more apps saved in queue in the background.

2. Though the sensation looks better (meaning its slimmer and curvier) I like the manly commanding and authoritative look of the Evo 3D. It looks like a sleek phone for professionals. Of course, aesthetics is a very subjective argument.

3. The 3D Aspect of the EVo 3D is FOR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ONLY. There is no "3D" UI interface, like the one found on the Optimus 3d/ LG Thrill. The UI on the Evo 3D has the same UI as the Sensation.

4. Dedicated camera button. Need I say more?

5. More internal storage. The EVo 3D has 4GB internal storage, compared to the Sensations 1 GB. That means more apps can be stored on the phone itself, freeing up more room on your memory card.

6. OK, I'm gonna state the obvious. It friggin takes friggin 3D pics and video man (Which you can switch to 2D at your heart's desire). And they are including the mobile version of friggin youtube 3d....

7. front facing camera on the Evo 3D is 1.3 mp. The Senastion has a VGA front facing cam.

8. Sprint has Google Voice integration, making your Evo 3D's Gvoice functionality a tad more superior than the Sensation.

9. Evo 3D has a bigger battery.

10. This one is a stretch. The rear camera is only 5mp, but there are 2 of them back there. I'm sure that at some point down the road, an ingenious app developer will come along and make a nice little app that takes advantage of that second camera.

This pretty much sums it up.. The evo 3d is a more capable device, with more features. End of story. The internal memory alone is a deal sealer, if not that, then the bigger battery, and the option to have 3d is.

Well, if I remember correctly the 3D has 4GB but only 1GB is available to the user.

I am quite sure the 2 cams won't be used to up the MP.

Yes, the dedicated camera button rocks, the 1.3MP front facing is better than VGA (but not crucial as it's only for vanity shots and video calls).

The RAM IS important if you're a power user.

The Sensation is nicer honestly and I am tempted by the stereo sound in video recording. It's something that honestly appeals to me.

The 3D does have a bigger battery.

One thing that is making me personally lean towards the Sensation despite the battery, RAM and 3D of the 3D is the backside camera. I live in a city often listed as quite dangerous or even among the most dangerous world-wide. Muggings are common-place and I think that the dual cameras on the back might draw more attention than I want (what's the point of having a nice phone if I'll only have it for a month). Thankfully this is not an issue for most people.

Both devices look amazing but at the end of day the Evo 3D was designed for Sprint and the Sensation will go to T-Mobile. It's not like people on Sprint get a choice between the 2 devices. It would be pretty foolish to switch carriers for a phone that is so closely matched to one on your carrier already. I will be getting the Sensation on launch day but only because I'm on T-Mobile. If I were on Sprint, I'd definitely be getting the EVO 3D.

Yes, but there are people whose contracts are up and who might want to jump ship with a good phone being the push they need.

Then there's people like me who buy off contract and there is supposed to be a GSM version of the Evo 3D (for Europe) and as the site isn't limited to the US it's a valid point/question. Of course, when buying off contract it's a more serious question as it is a large purchase/investment.

What? Where did you read that? With the beating HTC is getting over the Thunderbolt not having the advertised storage present, I doubt they'd claim it has 4 and let us have 1.

If you dont need the 3D, cant even fill up the internal memory on the OG evo, and you have two thumbs. I think the sensation is a better choice. (Just described myself BTW)

Slimmer, metal chassis, and curved display. Besides, it just looks better ;)
