3g and wifi colors

Noob question.... Whats the difference when the notification icons for 3g and wifi are blue or white?

basically it is coming out of sleep mode and reconnecting to the 3g tower signal u use

Blue means it's logged into Google for syncing your calendars, contacts and GMail (plus whatever other Google services you use). White means there is currently no connection to Google.
