Hey guys!

I warrantied my first Rezound about a year ago, but I can't remember what the problem was to be honest :p For one year I've had some issues, but nothing I needed to warranty it for. I don't do anything on my phone except emails, internet, youtube, and a few apps here or there. A few days ago, my phone froze during mid phone call and wouldn't turn off, so I pulled the battery, put it back in, and it wouldn't turn on or charge. Then I warrantied it, and got my replacement Rezound today. Only.... it freezes in like 10-15 seconds when you unlock the phone and try to do anything. No matter what I do, it freezes always when I'm using it, turns off, and turns back on. So I have to warranty this one too, and the next one should get here Friday. On top of that, every single time I went to the verizon store the service desk people gave me an attitude about it.

Only question is, do you think I should keep getting them replaced until I get a good one, sell it on ebay, and upgrade to a new phone? This has honestly been a hassle for me, and I don't want to wait for my phone to break again. So.. what do you guys think? I'm looking at the Galaxy Note 2 and the DNA. If they are leaps and bounds better than the Rezound, it may be worth selling then. I just ordered a Nexus 7, so maybe I'll return if I go with the Note II. I did say before that I only use my phone for a few things, but that is more because of the small size and battery life making it almost incapable of doing so. Lately I've been thinking that getting a tablet will allow me to do more productive things when I'm not on my laptop, but if I get a Note II, maybe I won't need one after all.

Thanks! :)

I'd move on... my phone is too important to me -- I need something that works all the time. Maybe I've been lucky, my Rezound has been working flawlessly for 11 months... I wouldn't keep beyond 11 hours if it didn't work.

What phone would you guys reccommend? Something that's not too big (maybe equally Rezound sized?) because I have the Gnex, but with better battery life since I plan to tether. I wonder if I complaining at Verizon that this is too much, they will give me a newer phone (as in DNA, Maxx HD, ect). Anyone tried this before?

I'd say there's very little, as in no chance, of you getting the DNA. I'm not sure what they'd offer you, possibly the RAZR Maxx or something like that. The DNA is far to new.

About your Rezound problems, when you get the next one, do a factory reset before you do anything else, then make sure you're on the latest ICS. I know doing a factory reset right out of the box seems redundant but it will eliminate many problems down the road. If it's still not working at least you know you started clean.

Only customer care will let you into a different model. The stores don't have that authority. I have had issues but it turned out to be the network. But today my visual voice mail stopped working. Tech support tried but had to hard reset. That fixed it. Sometimes that is what is needed to do. But if your next replacement is bad get a different phone. Ask what they will offer you if you aren't able to upgrade. They have certain devices they can offer. But not the newer ones like the DNA S3 or Note2

I complained enough so they're sending me a refurb S3 (same certified phones program)? Now I'm a bit worried I'm not going to get a working S3 in good conidition, because so far my experience with these replacement phones have been nothing short of terrible.

Also, on top of that, it doesn't come with the battery, battery door and charger so Verizon actually charged my account $80 for it (vaguely asked me if I wanted the accessories for "a little extra") and overnighted it so it gets here the same day. I'm pretty sure I can find it for much cheaper, so I was pissed, but whatever if it gets here the same day I'll just use them. But seriously, cmon Verizon. That should of been free too.

Dang man, they made you pay for the battery and the battery door?! What did they do, find the phone in a parking lot, dust it off, and try to sell it? That would have really pi$$ed me off!

Yeah, I had the same experience when they did a warranty replacement from tbolt to rezound, they sent just the phone, no charger, battery, or Cover. You could have asked for a razr Maxx, no need for a battery or back cover, since it is embedded. The charger, you can use any generic microusb charger will work, I don't know what Verizon charged you, but my guess would be around $30ish, which is a rip off. It probably takes superior approval, but Verizon can send out the kit with charger, battery, and door. Ymmv of course.

The person on the phone had to get supervisor approval just to replace my Rezound with the GS3, so I doubt I would ever get that free now. I probably just could of got it all off ebay for cheaper, but whatever it's directly from Verizon, so the parts are genuine. Anyone know how breakable the S3 screen is? It looks like it is very brittle. Now I need to find a case.

google the phrase "adding insult to injury"... pretty sure your post will be the definition :p weaksauce! Hope the S3 works out for you -- my brother has one and even though I am a "HTC fanboy", I ain't gonna lie, I am lusting in my heart over that phone.

I would cut my losses and be happy with what they're sending you. going from the rezound to the S3 is an upgrade, even if it's a refurbed model. I hope it works for you, I'm slightly jealous.

I just did a replacement program with VZ from the Tbolt and they sent me a battery and 2 back covers. Had to do 2 HBoot Resets to get back to factory settings.
So far, so good.

Battery life is terrible... As expected.

What would that have done?

What would it have done? Absolutely nothing. But if they're going to be childish about it you might as well fight fire with fire. Also it would have been hilarious to hear the CSR's response to that! :D

I don't know why you were treated this way. I had thunderbolt issues so was given the rezound. They made sure I had a back and battery....no extra charge.
Call them. Be nice tho. ASK TO SPEAK TO LOYALTY DEPT. You should not had been asked to.pay for the extras.

HA! When they finally replaced my TB with the Rezound they also were kind enough to charge me for a back door and a battery. Of course the Rezound came with a back door on it so now I have 2! And its the same size battery as the TB too so now I have a few of those too! The battery use is really no worse than the TB. Wish I could have gotten an S3 but the Rezound has way better specs than the TB (and with the Seido case its about the same size as a case-less TB which was great for me :p) Luckily my RZ has been working fine (compared to the TB working is fine enough LOLOL!).
