I have a Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935FD), which is running Marshmallow 6.0.1.
I like Handcent, but have also tested this with Textra, Chomp SMS and Go SMS, just to eliminate whether it was a Handcent issue only.
Whenever I use one of these 3rd party messaging apps and try to send a picture in a text (MMS) I get a pop-up that states "unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". I can send regular texts (SMS) just fine. It's only MMS and the pop-up just keeps popping up over and over and over until I restart the phone. The default messaging app sends SMS and MMS perfectly.
Here's what I've done:
- Stopped and cleared the cache and data of the Phone app
- Stopped and cleared the cache and data of Handcent (also other message apps when I tested them)
- Stopped and cleared the cache and data of the default messaging app
- Wiped the cache partition of the phone
None of this seems to have fixed the issue with Handcent or any other messaging app. Again, the built in messaging app works perfectly. Anyone else running into this with S7 running 6.0.1? I really do not want to try a factory reset, especially if it's a known issue and I'd waste all that time for nothing.
