3rd Party Problem Apps with Jellybean

Hi there!

I have the exact same issue with Grooveshark, it stopped working when I upgraded Android to stupid oh stupid Jellybean, have you found a solution for this? Please help me!! this is the only forum where I found info about this issue, I'm kind of desperate and sad, because Grooveshark used to be awesome! Even here in Mexico... with the crappy 3G we got down here. I would really appreciate your help. Thks!

That kind of thing is up to the developer to fix. I'd send them an email about the issue.

People need to remember that it is not HTC's job to make sure that the OS works 100% percent works with every app out there. There are just WAY too many out there to even believe that's reasonable. I'd be willing to bet that MOST of the weird bugs(not known JB bugs) are the result of 3rd party apps not playing well with JB but that most no one will take the time to try to narrow it down to which apps are causing the issue.

Take my situation for instance. Equalizer from Smart Android apps worked perfectly on ICS. I used it all the time. As soon as I booted up JB my phone went nuts, bootloops, force closes, non responsive touch screen, skipping audio, voice search crashes, random reboots. Did many hard resets, clearing cache partitions, everything you could think of, but nothing would fix it. It was just horrible. Took it to Sprint and even they couldn't figure it out they offered to replace the phone but I refused. So I started going through my apps, yes it took a while to figure it out that it was this ONE app causing ALL of my issues,,, but in the end is it worth it to me to go through the expense and headache of replacing a phone through warranty or TEP, or switching to a different phone over a $1 app. No way in hell. Yes it sucks, but again there is absolutely no way that a phone manufacturer can be sure that their phones are 100% compatible will the thousands upon thousands of apps out there. In the end Smart Android Apps told me they didn't support the HTC music player....so uninstalled it stayed.

P.S. any other 3rd party equalizer app I installed gave me issues as well. I gave PowerAmp a go and not only is it much better than the stock player,,, but the EQ on it blows everything else I tried away,,,, even the good Beats EQ setting we got at launch.
