Don't check for an update. Just check if the option has appeared in settings / applications

I keep checking for an update but I keep getting a Server Unavailable message.. anyone else seeing this .. Wonder if this has to do with me using SuperOneClick.. I can now sideload apps, but it would be nice to be able to do it a legit way instead of having to 'SOC' my way through the phone.

No, that is something else. Not sure what "mock applications" checkbox does. You are looking for one that says: "Unknown Sources"

There is a checkbox for Allow Mock Locations under Applications>Development, maybe that's what you mean.

I got an inspire sunday. This morning it said it needed a software update so I did it. It is now reading software 1.84.502.11. I think it was an HTC update because I do not see unknown sources listed in applications. I am in SE PA.

If there's one thing I miss about the iphone is it's update system. Everyone got the update at the same time.
