4.0.4 OTA has Arrived!

Got mine this morning after I did the Google Services Framework trick. Haven't played with my phone much since I've been working, but it 'feels' better somehow, heh.

Got mine manually by doing what some others have suggested. Had to repeat this about 5 or 6 times, then the update came through.

1. Go to settings
2. Apps (make sure you are on 'all' tab)
3. Go to "Google Services Framework"
4. Force stop
5. Clear data
6. Go manually check for update though 'about phone' in settings.
7. Repeat until update comes through

This method worked for me on the third try. My GNex is installing the update now.

<edit>
Installation went fine. Running 4.0.4 now with no problems after using above method.

Worked first try. Thanks!

I'd like to see more reports of radio improvements from some people that had problems. I've been on the fence about getting a gnex mostly cause of the radio issues (and camera performance)

Camera performance is meh.... I don't really like it's camera much. But I don't take a lot of pictures and knew the camera was junk before buying the phone anyways. I bought a HDR app to try and improve the pictures and while it makes them different the stock looks better. The radio's are fine esp with the new update. Just don't use skype with LTE.

ty ty ty ty. i saw this advice before, but I didn't really think it mattered. Just got my update on the 2nd try. FINALLY!

After upgrade I noticed my phone was running a bit warm to the touch. Battery life was sucking. Checking the battery stats I found that Google+ was the culprit. In 1hr15Min of time since charge Google+ was active 48min of the time, and other than having it active on my mail account I don't use it. I did a force stop and then clear the data, no more battery suck by Google+ app. I did the force update for 4.0.4 so maybe purging the Google Framework data has something to do with the issue. Dunno..... but running smoothly now.

I didn't notice a change in my 4G signal strength. The GNex is da bomb if you are somewhere with a strong 4G signal. It is not so good where the signal is weak. 4.0.4 didn't change that for me.

I forced the update this morning. My phone used to drop 4G after about 15 minutes. Did this happen to anyone else? Did the update help? Has anyone seen improvements in the battery life?

Otherwise screen rotation is much better/quicker, multitask button is much more responsive. scrolling though the widgets seems smoother, no hiccups.

Nice update so far.

Only thing I've experienced that isn't good is I have problems with talking to people every one and a while.

Radio performance seems to be the same for me, although I didn't consider it an issue on 4.0.2. Camera seems to be the same too. Still too early to tell for sure, though.

Battery life does seem better actually, although as above, still too early to say for sure.

Recently, my signal was dropping constantly. Two days after the update, no drops as of yet. I now get 4G where I used to get only 3G, and 4G strength has pretty much doubled!

I am assuming the GN will need to be flashed back to stock and unrooted for this to work but will it need to be Locked as well?

OMG!!!! I got the update this morning. I woke up and the message to update was on the phone. I can't believe it. My life is now significantly better. 4.0.4 is everything I thought it would be and more.
