4.2.1 Update Received

I wish I did not do it. NFC cannot be disabled and it is using good share of battery juice

Maybe misunderstanding something here... NFC can be disabled. Its under 'More' in settings. Its disabled on mine running 4.2.1.

Re: 4.2.1

I installed the update. Since then Dolphin browser crashes. The rest seems fine ;)

4.2.1 showed up while at MacDonald's yesterday afternoon. Installed smoothly and don't have the same problems as after the 4.2 update. I was going to reboot before bed last night to help things settle in, but the N7 did that on its own overnight. :-(

Usually when you have an urgent bug, and you are ready to patch it, you take all the patches that are 100% ready and roll them out together. So even though this update is to fix the critical December bug, there might get be 70 actual bug fixes and tweaks in there. If you are forced to fix something might as well fix whatever you got ready at the same time.
There aren't. There are two commits in this according to Jerry.

Just because two files changed, it doesn't mean just two things are fixed.

I got my N7 yesterday and since then I have been hesitant to update. Should I? Any really bad bugs with this release?

Got the update here in California on my N7.

Got my update on 12/1. Fixed the December issue. Hasn't been lagging as much as it did. The NEXUS 7 Guidebook got updated....(who among you caught THAT one?)...Everything else seems pretty normal. Even ran it in SAFE mode and didn't notice any problems.

I continue to experience all kinds of lag on the home screen, and on the Lock screen. Waiting for orientation to switch on the Lock screen is a big annoyance.

Re: 4.2.1

Because otherwise after an update it hangs on the little android flat on his back with a ! on it's belly. It's so much easier to just back it up and unroot it, update it and root it again. For me it is anyway.
