4.2.2 arrived in UK

Here I am, sitting in the US with a 32GB dev edition One, and no update :( The waiting sucks

Is it just me who thinks it's nothing to sing about??

Now we've got...

1) No black menu bar. Ok, that's good but let's face it, we never should have had it in the first place... so no big advancement there.
2) Widgets on lockscreen. Great in theory but spoilt by the fact you can only have one widget on there at a time and that for now you can only choose from about 6 widgets even though you've got ten times that installed on your phone.
3) Daydream. Who cares?!
4) Battery percentage. Even crappy 5 year old smart phones managed that one so excuse me for not getting excited.
5)... And this is the only one that I really like... The new notification bar shortcuts. Although power toggle does the same and more in a fraction of the area.

Samsung/touchwiz upgrade to 4.2.2 get a WHOLE lot more "toys" to play with.

Still wouldn't swap my htc back to an s3/s4, but usually after a long awaited update like this I feel like I've got a new phone once installed. With this one I feel like I've lost a black bar and that's about it.

Samsung started with lot more toys though...

I am noticing that battery is taking less time to charge now as compared to earlier version..finally can use gallery app without Facebook and no need for power toggles :-)

If anyone was having the camera autofocus problem prior to the update, is it fixed after moving up to 4.2.2?

If anything that makes it worse. Samsung was already packed with toys and they still managed to add a lot more than htc in this update.
Samsung was overbloated with features to begin with. Which is why the 16gb version has so little available storage availabe because of all their toys. More isn't necessarily better.

Got it yesterday and installed last night. The biggest difference I've noticed is the massive increase in battery life. Off charge at 5am this morning, used as per normal with internet, various home and work mail clients, surfed the web, played a couple of games. Normally by this point I'd be south of 50%

Astonishingly 14 hours and 20 minutes later, I'm sitting at 77%!!!!!! :D Don't know what they've done but I like it!

Is Google Now accessible from the lockscreen using that gesture? I kinda miss using Siri from the lockscreen on my 4S

It's probably nothing to sing about, but it seems like the update fixes many of the issues people had with the phone. The expandable notifications will be awesome, and having battery percentage and toggles will remove the need for me installing another app (power toggles). I'll be pretty happy with the update. :)

edit: @anybody who's on 4.2.2., has HTC fixed how moving icons into/out of out the dock worked in 4.1.2? Does pressing the back button in the app drawer make the phone go to the home screen? This annoys me every time I exit an app and I can't go back to the home screen by pressing Back.

Plus the ability to remove Facebook from your gallery.... plus adding Instagram to Blinkfeed.... plus 6 new Highlight types.... plus reducing the amount of shots saved with a Zoe down to 1 to make it more manageable with photo upload services like Dropbox and Google+.... plus the ability to swipe up from the Home button for Google Now (LOVE this).... plus moving Power Saver to the Quick Toggles so notifications now auto-expand correctly... plus the ability to manually select which pics/zoes get added to a highlight video...

Small changes, but all together they make for big usability improvements.

Before I updated to 4.2.2 my phone was as near to perfect operation as possible. Not a single lag or UI crash/redraw, etc. during the couple of months I've had it.
But since updating (two days ago) I've had a 'Sense has stopped responding' message, a bit of lag at times, a redraw when returning to the home screen, and non responsive and missing app icon thumbnails in the quick switch screen (long press of home button).

The phone is still quick but feels slightly 'buggy' now.

Anybody else noticed this??

If anything my phone feels faster with absolutely no lag, or crashes. Perhaps you might want to consider factory wipe which will probably sort this out.
