4.2.2 - If you're planning on skipping this update, think again..

No way I'm gonna miss on the soon to be launch LTE, just to get a little better battery life.
Running the latest CM10.1 and I carry a very small charger with me everywhere.

Good luck hacking your radio when LTE is turned on in a couple of weeks.

True, but bad battery software plus the hog of LTE will make your phone nearly useless. Also, I have yet to hear the definitive answer on LTE capabilities.... doesn't it lack some components to receive a true signal and only work in close blasting distance of a tower?

Bad battery software? What bad battery software?
My phone last just fine.
LTE running on the Nexus 4 latest and greatest hardware is not a battery hog. It is 2013.
This is not the HTC ThunderBolt we're talking about here.
Plus you DON'T HAVE TO have LTE on all the time.

One more thing: The Nexus 4 fully suports LTE on band 4 which is what I will use.
AnandTech - Nexus 4 Includes Support for LTE on Band 4 (AWS)

Yeah I'm on Tmo as well. Here's hoping that an update is released to trigger the lte on the nexus 4 from t-mobile in the future.

If you haven't updated to 4.2.2 there is no need for Tmobile to do anything.
Just go to the Phone info settings and enable LTE.

if you didn't have the software battery bug then good for you.

LTE is in fact a battery hog though - no getting around that. You probably will have no idea of the difference though, until you use it. I will be betting you go straight back to H+ only usage real quick. :)

Here's a little info for ya: Why LTE sucks (your battery, that is) — Tech News and Analysis

Personally, the minor added speed of LTE compared to H+ is not even close to worth the faster battery drain.

When I first got my Nexus 4 I purchased a cheap TPU case that does the job, but that Ringke Fusion case has me drooling. It's like having a bumper that also protects the back.

1.) I've already upgraded to 4.2.2
2.) I'm not Canadian, because apparently the LTE on this phone only works on Band 4 which is what Canadians use. By the time Tmo launches its LTE, also on band 4, then I dunno. Maybe they'll push an update out. Otherwise, I get great speeds regardless.

So I use net10 on my nexus... If I use tmo would I be able to use the lte over net10? Or is that not yet known

For the money, I've felt the ionic is the best protection on all sides, corners, all except front glass as there is no front cover, the case fits extremely tight and doesn't look cheap, there is a non-ionic case which is a duplicate but has a much better color selection. I've gotten two already, one for my Nx4 and one for my wifes Nx4. All cut outs are spot on.

Download snapdragons 'batteryguru' next and you'll be even better, snapdragon, the maker of the quad4 processor puts this out for free, I've been using it, it takes up to 4-5 days to learn your system then you'll get a message sayinbg its all set up.

That article was written when? More than a year ago?

The Nexus 4 with the latest more energy efficient chipsets wasn' t even made yet.

I have just been using the poetic bumper. Honestly seems like plenty of protection for me. I haven't dropped it yet though lol.

The bumper will solve one of what seemed to be the two biggest nexus 4 hazards, sliding off desk and table tops! As far as dropping, unless the phone drops on a corner of whatever, a flat down hit will be provided protection to the phone by nature of the bumpers raised edges.

Unless it falls on an uneven surface that is. I still would recommend a back protector or sticker if one is gonna use the bumper.
