Any guesses as to how many months it will be before US carriers begin updating phones.

I'm sure we will get it by 2016.

If I change my CID from HTC__J15 to HTC_A07 (Russian) to receive the 4.2.2 update, do I have to change my Model ID as well? It is PN0711000. And do I have to be S-ON or is S-OFF fine?

You cannot do it unless you're S-OFF, though.

Since you're in the US, your Model ID is different, therefore even if you change the CID you'll not be able to install the OTA update. You'd have to change both MID and CID (changing MID is a hassle).

Apple maps musta royally screwed up and dove the U.S. update right into Lake Erie!! I know this cause I used Google Earth and saw it there!!

I bet the NSA had something to do with this. Seriously, I wonder if it takes so long for updates because the NSA has to add its spy ware crap before it goes to the carriers?
