Hey Everyone,

I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to but, I manually updated the gallery and camera to 4.2 (and the keyboard) a while back.
Problem is, now that I have the 4.2.2 update OTA, everytime I try to install it, it fails due to the gallery.apk being already at 4.2.
Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this? short of factory reset that is.
If someone has the old gallery 4.1.1, it might work if i try to flash it over the 4.2 then install 4.2.2.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks in advanced

yeah, if you aren't completely stock with a stock recovery, you will have problems with the OTA update.

Well I am running stock 4.1.1, with stock recovery.

its just the google gallery.apk which is running 4.2.2.
looks like the update tries to patch it but fails.
so What you are saying there is no way to force it, or revert back to the google gallery.apk that is native to 4.1.1?

You are not stock, because you have changed the stock system to install the camera leak, lol.

If you don't have a backup, your options are to either: Reverse the changes you made, reinstall the stock gallery, etc (the file can be found within the factory image available from Google).. Or do a full factory image restore, which will fully wipe the device.

thanks for the info, ill hunt down the gallery.apk in the 4.1.1 stock factory image and see if that does anything

Don't forget the keyboard too.. I missed that you said you changed that as well. The entire system must be stock or the OTA will not install - since OTA's work with .p files to patch your system up to a new version, they can't properly install if they don't recognize you as stock, it's done that way for your safety, not to annoy you :)
