Ok key lime pie looks beautiful in my eyes, and I'm tired of carrier overlays, and using launchers to cover my home screen ( they never come close to vanilla android). I have a Mac and rooting doesn't look as friendly on their as it does on pc's. I'm sick of the waiting around for updates ( 4.1 is on the note 2 but not the gs3 wtf). If I can't find a quick and easy way to get vanilla 4.2 on my phone I'm selling this , getting the nexus
And never getting a non-nexus device again.

I feel the same way man. After reading the announcement by Google. I'm fed up with this carrier bs. Tmobile needs to step this up seriously, hell all of the carriers do. Sprint got on top of their game now we're waiting around with the one of the best devices around with little to no carrier support. I think the gs3 is my last carrier branded device

Okay Android 4.2 Source has not been released yet so no 4.2 updates yet for any phones around. Quit crying about not being able to get Jelly Bean on GS3 obviously Custom ROMS (Great ones) have been around on XDA-Developers for a while and will not sink you with bloatware. Nexus devices are great but none of them ever had expandable memory so you either stick with 8 GB or 16 GB on board. And what do you mean carrier overlays? Touchwiz is Samsung... The only carrier branded stuff on their are APPS which are obviously removable by rooting.

Nexus devices specs are normally pretty comparable to carrier branded devices anyway. Yeah Quad Core is nice and Andreno 320 but those specs are really not necessary yet unless you multitask a lot which than becomes a battery drainer...

Also obviously Nexus devices being seld through Google too are going to have the latest OS available... Which is nothing new.

With Carrier overlays I was referring to the OP talking about carrier overlays making me think he is talking about Touchwiz. The bloatware is whats keeping your device at a so called "decent" price instead of having to pay $500 or what not for it.

Nexus like I said is designed by LG FOR Google which obviously means Google is going to provide the latest Operating System for it. I mean Android is owned by Google so obviously the first device to sport 4.2 first is an actual device made for / by Google (Get it!) So that's why you don't hear other carriers talking about 4.2 for any other device yet.

Sprint just has a deal with Google (All Nexus devices have been there) so here is a suggestion.. Switch Carriers.. Don't be a dumbnut and complain about other carriers not getting it.

the LG Nexus 4 will be released November 13 so before Xmas.

I know not everybody wants to root but guess what the Nexus 4 bought through Google Play is a ROOTED device... to call it that way. So whether you do it on your GS3 or not you still going to do it only this way you pay $299 for it or higher if you get 16 GB version.

So if you don't want to root to get the full potential of your phone you guys need to just watch and be quiet instead of complaining about that is never going to go our ways..

I know all of that. I don't know what the op is referring to.
