You should be able to delete threads (probably not now that I responded), click edit, and click the bullet next to delete. You don't need a reason, and click delete post.

I must be blind, I don't see anything with the word "delete" (other than the one I typed ) after I click on Edit Post.

I think because I replied, you can't delete it now. You can look on your second post here. It should be the same.
