4.3 Update WARNING........

Hi All,

The only issue I've noticed is that for some reason when I try and access my VPN's it's now asking for 'Credential Storage' password. This is something I've not setup so of course I don't know what the password is.

My current set up is:

1, Vodafone UK 4G ( though the phone was purchased outright from Amazon so is unlocked )
2, I have device encryption enabled which require a PIN lock or Password lock screen ( I've opted for PIN )

I've read that the only way to get aorund this is either enter the password wrong 3 times until it clears the credential storage and it'll allow me to reset the password ( this didn't work ). Which leaves me with the only other option and that's a Factory reset.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers.

I could quote more, but reading the comments on the harshness on 4.3 and then having you post that you upgraded to it is entertaining to me.

I took the gamble and it worked and I did it as the fixed the bugs. [Personal Insult removed by Moderator]

According to your own posts you never updated to 4.3 so why the false comments on it?

PS Seems kind of funny to have such strong opinions on something that you've never actually used... (insert "4.3 Update from Hell/Update Warning" link here). :)

PPS Still waiting for that 4.4 screenshot...

4.3 does seem to be flaky as hell. I think that it's a joke that Vodafone took ages to release it 'to make sure it is a reliable update' and when it finally comes out, it's flaky.

The two main problems I seem to having are:

Using the phone: sometimes it just won't dial any numbers. If you select a number and press dial it just immediately cuts the line again and shows it as a cancelled call. Restarting the phone cures this... until next time.

More annoying is the fact that it is now 50/50 whether it recognises the car dock or not. Usually, first thing in the morning it recognises my HTC car dock. But removing it and putting it back in and it doesn't recognise it. VERY annoying as in 4.2.2 it NEVER did this.

Anybody else having these probs?

I'm having same problem with the car dock. I have to slide it in 3 times to get it to charge almost every time. Annoying and frustrating.

Updated my S3 to 4.3 about a week ago and I am on the ATT network. Since then my battery life has decreased. My tether widget no longer works and the phone is slower. Now my assist light (camera LED) flashes everytime I get a call. I do not have a flash program installed to cause this and I can not find anything on this issue or how to turn it off. I Also have several apps that are now "buggy" after the update. Oh yeah, it also defaulted all my sound settings! Worst update ever.
