Hey I went to sideload the 4.4 update last night. I had TWRP installed and the load failed an soft bricked my phone. That's the bad news.
The good news is that 3 hours later, after trying about everything, I ran Nexus Toolkit and it fixed my partial upgrade, installed 4.4 and rooted it.
I hope this saves someone a bunch of heartache.
