I have searched high and low for the past 2 or 3 weeks searching for some way to do what was extremely simple on my old iPhone. Like so many before me, I grew tired of the iron fist of Uncle Steve and the control over the iOS platform, and decided to make the switch to Android. Now me and my HTC Inspire are very happy, but there is one thing that is sorely lacking, and that is tight integration of Google Voice with any of the default SMS apps. I was in love with BiteSMS on the iPhone, and found that there is pretty much a direct port in ChompSMS. However, there was a simple tweak for the iPhone that would route all incoming Google Voice text messages into your default SMS application, and capture them from the same application outgoing and route them through GV. In all my searching, I have yet to find something at simple as that. I can still use the GV app and not give AT&T 20 bucks a month for all my texting, but I find that the dedicated SMS apps, be it Chomp, Handcent, or even the default Messages application to be much more suited for the job. Anyway, all that to ask, does anyone have a workaround like what I'm describing? For the record, I haven't rooted the phone or anything, but that's only because I don't have a card that I can use to make into a goldcard yet. I will be doing that come next payday. Any solutions would be appreciated.
