4G connection issue

Hey guys -
First off, let me thank all of you for helping me out with my brand new Epic 4G. This forum has been really helpful.

I've been having several problems with the phone - but nothing is more irritating than the 4G (or lack thereof). My phone will seemingly connect to a 4G network, then immediately disconnect.

I live in an area where I'm supposed to have indoor 4G service. Is this a common issue, or just a lackluster 4G network?
 
My 4g phone work great inside my house. Have you tried updating your data profile?

This should refresh your data connection. Sometimes toggling airplane mode on and off usually fix the problem.

If problem persists contact sprint to have them refresh your 4g connection on their end.

Ps. You could verify with a rep if you have 4g coverage in your area.

I get indoor 4G at work but not at my home and they are less then 1 mile apart. Although work is in a large office building enclave so they likely focus on this area.
 
Otherwise you are like me and many others. 4g coverage is excellent close to major highways/city area but get even a mile or two into your neighborhoods away from main roads (usually populated with towers and signal repeaters) and 4g coverage is almost non existent.
 
Well, I'm in an "in-building 4G network coverage" area, according to the sprint website (so, take that with a grain of salt).

I updated my profile, and it didn't seem to help. I tried to connect to 4G, and one little bar of the icon was active, until I tried to open the browser. It immediately shut off, and switched to 3G. For some reason, I keep getting the "4G disconnected" notification at the top of the screen.

Grrr.
 
Welcome to 4g! LOL.. If there are areas you can get a solid 4g lock then its working. As far as your coverage at your "in-building 4g network coverage" area, like you said take it with a grain of salt.

Sorry to say... but you don't seem to be getting solid 4g connection. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get 4g for my evolution - I know I wouldn't be posting this much.

I use my phone for everything ... I haven't been on my PC since I got my phone.

Ps. If you don't mnd losing your data... and starting over from scratch - then you could do a "Data Reset" that would reactivate your data network, both 3g and 4g connection. If that doesn't work then...I don't know what more to tell you. Sorry!
 
stand outside the bldg, see if it connects. if it does, go inside. if it falls off, then that's the problem. blocked signal.
 
I have that problem where I live. 4G is non existent inside. Then I go outside and it sits idle for a minute or two before it just takes off.
 
There isn't much to do if you're not getting any coverage where you are, or your 4g connenction is being block.

Apart from a restart.... your only other option would be to Update your data profile
 
Thanks for the heads-up.

I wish Sprint would just get their act together and find someway for all their customers to enjoy 4g speed the way it was intend too. This is really unacceptable - :(

I used to get over 7Mbps down in an area. Since I've updated the PRL, the highest I've gotten is 5 in Miami, in the area I got 7 in the past, I only get 3 now. My gf's epic still gets higher 4G speeds and she hasn't updated her PRL. There is a way to roll back, but it involves using some windows based software and running 2.1 (2.2 doesn't work).
