4G drops to 1X

I recently upgraded from the Incredible to the Rezound and find that when 4G not available, the signal drops down to 1X. Not only that, it seems to stay in 1X even when 4G is available. How can I get the phone to drop to 3G when 4G not available? The Incredible ran in 3G in the same areas that the Rezound drops to 1X. What do I have to set to get it into 3G?

Some people have this issue. You can either switch in/out of airplane mode or exchange for a new handset. Mine switches between all 3 properly and so should yours.

MrSmith317, do you have any more information about people with this problem who had to get a new handset? I think I have this problem on my Rezound. I've noticed it getting worse and worse the last few days.

Today, its been on 1X most of the day, and I am 500 yards from a 4G tower. When I reboot, I have 4G for a few minutes, and without even moving the phone from the desk, it drops to 1X. It doesn't gracefully go to 3G - it just instantly switches to 1X.

Is there an app or something that I can use to better analyze whats going on?

Also, everything is stock. I haven't rooted or anything unusual.

The last two days my phone has been dropping to 3G where I normally have 4G. It's been very sporadic.

pull the sim and wait for 5 minutes. If that doesn't work, try a new sim. Or try a factory data reset, they usually ask you to do it before they send a replacement.
