4g going on and off a lot

It's been pretty solid around Birmingham, AL for the last few weeks. The last serious bout of data drops I had was back around July 13.

It is still good to do. It allows the phone to reboot and cycle through. Being out of state different. Cell towers. Can't use *228 on a cell phone to bring current. So on a smartphone you remove the battery and the SIM for a couple of minutes.

Why not just reboot the phone? Long press the power button, then chose reboot.

Well, I was finally able to completely satisfy myself that it is NOT my Thunderbolt. I also now have a laptop with a 4G card, supplied by work. My LTE on the TB has been dropping out in the last hour, so I looked at VZ Access Manager for the aircard, and lo and behold, no LTE signal there, either.

Thanks for this confirmation, as now we know for sure it's not our phones acting up.
This is truly very frustrating.

By pulling out the sim card in the other reboot method, you're actually resetting the parameters of which towers your phone is to communicate with, so when you turn your phone back on, it will search for the best/strongest connection. From my understanding, the standard reboot method you mentioned does not do this.

We recently got upgraded to 4g about a month ago where I live. Up until then we only had 3g. Ever since the update 3g and 4g goes out randomly on my phone where I live and the same happens to my wives Droid Charge. I don't think it's our phones, but rather Verizon since we never had any issues until 4g was turned on.
