4G in Cleveland, Ohio

I'm surprised at how far they are currently pushing out 4G in cleveland. I got 4G as far south as route 303 in brunswick, I see it as far west as avon and east as shaker heights (perhaps even farther). Obviously, however. It extends that far but there are still plenty of gaps in coverage in between those places. As long as Sprint (or clear?) can completly fill in those gaps in between the farthest out areas, cleveland will be very well covered with 4G. I'm just wondering how much of the area will have "in building" coverage with 4G. As we all know, 4G isnt the greatest at penetrating buildings. Having 4G coverage work but only when not inside isnt very good in my book. Anyone who knows how clevelands winters get can attest to it. In winter, I will not be spending much time outside!!!

I have 4G in my House! Followed Center Ridge from Barton all last night to find 4G all the way, and stayed connect even after I got into my house. It mapped on Sensorly. Looking at the sensorly map, it appears that they have switched on a hell of a lot more towers in North East ohio. Looks like coverage almost all the way from Mentor to North Ridgeville. (about 60 miles). I'm sure there are spots of no coverage, but it looks really good. I"ll power up my EVO tomorrow and drive up and down the streets mapping it out for Sensorly!

Wow, Picked up an Auto Dock from sprint over the weekend.. had my EVO 4G up and running with Sensorly this morning. Held 4G from my house in north ridgeville, all the way to my office in Beachwood. Only lost 4G for about a 500 foot section of Miles Road.. (Tower handoff?).. I should also note that speed test whith 4 bars showing are netting me in the mid 10Mbps! With 3 bars, it drops to 7... Thats faster then my damn cable modem at home!

Got 4G signal in several places, and it's fast. Anywhere from 4-8 down and 1 up usually. There must be a tower right by my office because I get 4g all through the building too. However, where I live Sprint signal is awful and so there's hardly voice coverage, let along 3- or 4G. Until I move, I can only hope that a new tower will go up around here somewhere. Sprint must have me as one of their only customers around here, because anyone else wouldn't put up with it, but the Epic is a great phone and my plan is at a great price.

4 bars? the 4G service icon only has a maximum of 3 bars on it. In anycase I have not seen 10mbps speeds for some time on 4G. I did, back when 4G was just rolling out. But even in a strong 4G area (around great northern mall for instance) the best speed I have seen lately is 7mbps down. upload seems capped at 1mbps which is a shame because thats about the same upload I get on 3G. Whats odd is that in a low signal area, downloads remain in the 4mbps area or slightly above however the upload drops to a dialup like 50kbps. An upload that slow will make web browsing seem fairly slow regardless of download speed. And uploading stuff like pictures will take an eternity. Even on a weak signal my 3G uploads are ALWAYS faster then that. I hope they change how that works :-P

Love what I'm seeing but...

I live in North Solon so no 3G/4G -driving west down Miles i get good 4G speeds and on 480 I'm pulling 6-10MB down depending on area but where I work in Beachwood, no 4G (though I see someone saying they're seeing signal in part of beachwood so maybe soon) - it's everywhere i'm not, lol - I have the same feeling I used to get as a smoker when I'd have a full pack of smokes and NO LIGHTER... I've got this awesome phone (evo) and great service everywhere in the city that I'm not going... clearly... I'm going to need to move and find a new job... Now how do I break this to my wife?!?!?!?

Cheers!
