I am sitting in Downtown Louisville, KY and my phone is showing the data being transmitted in 4G. Is anyone else seeing this? Is 4G finally live in Louisville?

They may be testing. The Dayton posters have been getting LTE on and off for the past week or so.

If you don't mind let me know later this afternoon if your 4G is still working, I'm in the St. Mathews area and will have to drive downtown to check it out.

Just did a google search and they indeed have turned on 4G in downtown area. They wanted to get it turned on before Thunder this weekend.

Why are they only making 4G available in the downtown area? What about the rest of the city?

According to Gilbert, the Verizon 4G coverage will extend along Interstate 65, between Burnett Avenue in Louisville and Interstate 265 in Southern Indiana, and along I-64, between 22nd Street and Grinstead Drive in Louisville.

I was wondering this also, my only guess is that they want to have a smaller test area before extending it to cover the entire Louisville area. Thunder should be a pretty good test, bound to be some bolts in the crowd.

Probably helps the media with internet access also.

I was told southwest Louisville would have limited access to 4G this weekend by a Verizon store employee. We'll see, so far no 4G on my TBolt.

Nice they are turning it on for Thunder Over Louisville, just hope I get a signal where I live. :p
