I have noticed no different in speeds from 3G to 4G expect maybe a slight few KBs here and there improvement. Still nothing over 1.5mb on testing many different 3/4g devices in many different areas that show 4G coverage with signal.

So my question is............ Is 4G just a myth or downright lie in the St Louis area?

I was told by one Sprint repair tech in my area that oh Sprint is still officially beta testing 4G here it is not the real thing and who knows when the real thing will be here.

Are they going to get it up to par of what was promised and quoted or just let it ride and hope no one really notices?????

What part of St Louis are you located... I am over on the IL side in Godfrey and do not have 4G at this time.

I was told last week by Sprint that they are currently working on the tower over by the Mills and that they are working this way adding Wood River and South Roxana within the last 2 weeks. When the work is done Alton and Godfrey will have access to 4G... He thought that this work should be completed within weeks.

I bought a EVO on Friday and was in Edwardsville where 4G is available and pulled down about 7MB up and 2MB down.

In south county you can get a 4g signal just about everywhere and it is quite fast. when i moved i used hulu and netflix tethered to my evo with 4g and never had any lag at all...didn't really check the speeds, but web pages were quick and definately better than 3g.

The post was not about St Louis being a 4G area or not. It was about calling their bluff that all devices in 4G service area with 4G on and full 4G service are only doing 3G speeds of about 500 to 1MB.

I was told and read 4G is suppose to be 2-5mb just like home DSL service, so I am calling Sprint out as to is 4G in St Louis a myth or lie, cause the speed is still 3G speeds.

Thinking you are gonna get 4g speeds in a area with 3g network capability only is like going into Dunkin' Doughnuts and asking for caviar.
