4g later this year?

According to two separate tech reps that I have talked to the Inc is 4g capable as is and that by end of summer they will have 4g in 20 markets. They also stated that they are currently running 4g in Boston and Seattle but I don't know if that is true or not.

Someone said limited data as opposed to unlimited 3g right? If you assume thats the case, and you are grandfathered in, I think thats how they get you out of the grandfathered contract.

If they were smart, they would offer a free or at least heavily discounted phone upgrade to try to move everyone from 3g to LTE to get them out of the grandfathered plans.

fwiw...unless theres something in the specs of the incredible that hassnt been released, it wont be 4g capable, due to the face that it picks up the frequencies of the 1x and EV-DO Rev A and not the 700mhz that verizon will be using for their 4g or LTE.

There's also the fact (which everyone seemed to dismiss before) that there's no SIM card slot on the incredible (to my knowledge). From what I understand LTE will be using some kind of SIM card.

I live in Seattle and from what I got from a friend that works on the towers, LTE is currently being tested in Seattle, so technically it is "on" but no one can really use it yet other than the dev's.
